Premiere Performance workshop (The EYES Have It!) - sold out
Sara Shrapnell is delights to be working with The EYES Have It! fusion festival to present a workshop like no other....
Aimed at "Premiere" belly dancers (That is those who have never danced on stage, never belly danced on stage or never danced solo on stage)- this is a combination of workshop and performance opportunity.
Part one: is a workshop that will prepare you for your first performance. From picking music, through writing a choreo, or structuring your improvisation, choosing a costume, preparing your music, all the way to stage fright, Sara will walk you through the process. There will be 4 hours of studio time, plus pointers for your at home preparations.
Part two: is the opportunity to dance on Sunday at The EYES Have it! festival in Merced on March 17th. This festival is the perfect platform for new performers and a section of time will be reserved for our group. The audience is warm, friendly and supportive.
This workshop will also be repeated in Merced during February, so let us know if you want details.
Sara Shrapnell has been performing since before she was born, but moved to belly dance in 1993. She has performed at gala stage shows, wedding, country fetes, restaurants, and grandma's birthday parties. In 2016 she was part of the team who published the stagecraft handbook for belly dancers, "Becoming a Belly Dancer". She has helped many other belly dancers take their first steps on to stage and ran a successful "Premiere Performers Platform" while teaching in the UK. You can find out more about Sara here:
